Introduction:
The genetic information of most of the living organisms (except certain viruses) is stored in the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) strands. This information is transferred to RNA and then to proteins. However, in certain viruses, RNA (ribonucleic acid) is present as the genetic material, and thus information flow occurs from RNA to DNA.
