Concept introduction:
Cost Volume Profit (CVP) Analysis:
The Cost Volume Profit analysis is the analysis of the relation between cost, volume, and profit of a product. It analyzes the cost and profits at the different level of production, in order to determine the breakeven point and required the level of sales to earn the desired profit.
Contribution margin means the margin that is left with the company after recovering variable cost out of revenue earned by selling smart phones. The formula for contribution margin is as follows:
Contribution margin = Sales - Variable cost.
Similarly contribution margin ratio = Contribution/sales
Breakeven Point:
The Breakeven point is the level of sales at which the net profit is nil. It can be explained as a situation where the business is generating a sale that is equal to the expenses incurred and hence no

- Jean and Tom Perritz own and manage Happy Home Helpers, Inc. (HHH), a house-cleaning service. Each cleaning (cleaning one house one time) takes a team of three house cleaners about 1.5 hours. On average, HHH completes about 15,000 cleanings per year. The following total costs are associated with the total cleanings: Required: 1. Calculate the prime cost per cleaning. 2. Calculate the conversion cost per cleaning. 3. Calculate the total variable cost per cleaning. 4. Calculate the total service cost per cleaning. 5. What if rent on the office that Jean and Tom use to run HHH increased by 1,500? Explain the impact on the following: a. Prime cost per cleaning b. Conversion cost per cleaning c. Total variable cost per cleaning d. Total service cost per cleaningarrow_forwardMukhiarrow_forwardAnswer this for me mate. Much appreciated.arrow_forward
- Using the chart, I need assistance in answering the following questions w/ explanations: (The cost of the bags, which must be ordered in batches of 100) a) If this was a profit-making activity, at the entry fee of $20, what would be the profit-maximizing quantity of participants/bags? (I got 300 participants/bags) b) Use the information in the table to determine the exact breakeven quantity of participants/bags for the entry fee of $20. Use the formula Qb = F/(P – AVC).
