The vascular system is also known as the circulatory system, and contains vessels that carry blood and lymphatic fluid throughout the body. The main blood vessels are arteries, veins, and capillaries. The arteries transport oxygenated blood from the heart to different body parts whereas, the veins receive deoxygenated blood from the body parts and transport it to the heart for purification. The capillaries are the smallest blood vessels.
