Question
Chapter 14, Problem 39RA
Summary Introduction
To review:
The following:
Reasons for weak and rapid pulse of a person in circulatory shock
Treatments to raise the blood pressure.
Introduction:
The circulation of blood throughout the body is done by the circulatory system. It includes two forms of circulation, namely pulmonary circulation that carries deoxygenated blood from the body to the heart, and systemic circulation that is responsible for transporting oxygenated blood from the heart to various body parts.

A patient was admitted to the hospital with chest pains. On admission, his pulse was 110 and his blood pressure was 96/64. According to his history, his normal pulse rate is usually between 80 and 88 and his blood pressure runs from 120/70 to 130/80.
Discuss the consequences of reduced resistance to blood flow on this patient
The long-term regulation of arterial blood pressure is controlled by the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone system (RAA system). Explain how the activation of the RAA system is initiated.
Two common classes of medication to reduce blood pressure work by 1) increasing urine production and 2) reducing stimulation of your SA node. How would these two things decrease blood pressure?
