Question
Chapter 14, Problem 27RA
Summary Introduction
To review:
The mechanisms involved in increasing the cardiac output and the rate of blood flow during exercise.
Introduction:
The heart pumps blood to various parts of the body at a constant rate under normal conditions. Exercise demands higher input of oxygen as well as energy. The demands are met by increasing the cardiac output of the heart. The blood supply to the heart as well as the skeletal muscles also goes up during exercise.
