The basic steps of transformation of B cells into plasma cells.

Introduction:

Primary immune response is generated when an individual is exposed to an antigen for the very first time. This response is slow and is of low intensity. On subsequent exposure to the same antigen, highly exaggerated secondary response is produced with the help of memory B (bone marrow) cells produced during the primary response. After stimulation, the memory B cells are converted into the plasma cells and start producing antibodies.
