Chapter 24, Problem 13RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The difference between transplant rejections of nucleated cells and the rejection of blood cells.
Introduction:
Major histocompatibility complexes (MHC) are the antigen-presenting cell (APC) surface proteins that are responsible for holding and presenting the antigens. They help to recognize whether the antigen is from the host or belongs to a foreign source. The MHC bind to the antigen coming to the host cell and present it back to the cell surface. T (Thymic lymphocyte) cells can only be activated once the foreign molecule attached to an MHC is recognized.
