Antibodies are also called immunoglobulins and are the larger members of the protein superfamily. The antibody molecule is composed of one or more units of glycoprotein. There are four polypeptide chains out of which two are heavy while two are light chains represented by H and L, respectively. The heavy chains are joined to form two Y shaped molecules.
