Chapter 9, Problem 9RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The advantage of recombination for a species.
Introduction:
Recombination is the exchange of genetic material between two organisms belonging to either same or different species. Recombination can occur naturally during meiosis and mitosis or artificially by using tools of genetic engineering. The recombination of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in the cell can occur by two main mechanisms, generalized recombination mechanism and site-specific recombination.Â
