Introduction:

The three main processes involved in genetic recombination occurring in the bacterial cells are conjugation, transduction, and transformation. The process of conjugation involves the formation of a conjugation tube through which exchange of genetic material occurs. This exchange occurs by means of bacteriophages in transduction while transformation involves uptake of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) molecule by a cell from the surrounding environment.
