Introduction:
The DNA inside a cell is present in the form of a double-stranded helix, where both the strands run in anti-parallel direction. Every complete turn of the strand around a central axis contains 10 base pairs. When the number of base pairs in a strand are known, the number of turns that the strand will make can be calculated. This formation of the double-stranded helix is the first stage of folding that the DNA undergoes, in order to get accommodated into the nucleus.
