Chapter 26, Problem 11EQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The experimentalstrategy to determine the functional role of homeobox (HoxD-3) gene in mouse.
Introduction:
The Hox gene belongs to the family of the homeobox genes that perform a very crucial role in the morphogenesis in all the mammals. The complex body plan of the mammals is the result of the presence of Hoxgenes, which enable the proper patterning of the anterior-posterior axis. Four complexes of Hox gene are found to be present in the mouse.
