The name of the compound has to be given.

Concept introduction:

Aromatic compounds:

Aromatic compounds are called as arenes and the parent compound is benzene.  When the benzene ring is named as a substituent, it called as phenyl.

Rules for naming an aromatic compound:

The compounds are named by counting around the ring in the direction that gives the smallest numbers to the substituents.
