To review :

Relative advantages and disadvantages of the slow release strategy for a virus as compared to the strategy of a temperate phage.

Introduction:

A temperate phage infects and lyses the host cell similar to the virulent phage. Additionally, the temperate phage has an alternative pathway in which the phage integrates its genome as a prophage. Lysogeny is the state in which the phage lysogenizes the host cell. An example of a temperate phage is phage lambda.
