Concept explainers
To hypothesize:
The condition of women’s bone if intake of calcium during pregnancy is not increased.
Introduction:
Osteoblast and osteoclast are the two main cells participating in those progress.
Explanation of Solution
When a woman is pregnant then she requires at least 1,000 mg of calcium per day in her diet. Dairy food products such as milk, cheese and curd are good sources of calcium that should be included in the diet while pregnancy or in pre-conceptual time. Green vegetables also contain calcium in some amounts. If a mother does not take calcium in a good amount before or during pregnancy then she might face some loss of maternal bone density later which can become a problem for all her life. The mother may also get Osteoporosis which is the loss in the bone that makes the body weak.
If a woman’s bone does not increase the intake of calcium during pregnancy, then she might face some loss of maternal bone density later which can become a problem for all her life.
