The function of osteoclasts and osteoblasts.
Introduction:
Osteoblast and osteoclast are the cells that play major roles in the formation and breakdown of bones.
Explanation of Solution
Osteoblasts are the bone cell that made up of collagen fibers. They are formed from osteoclasts on bone surfaces and in the cavities. Osteoblasts synthesize proteins in the bone matrix and regulate osteoclast maturation.
Osteoclasts solubilize the bone that is aged and further in good functioning. Resorption of mineralized bone, dentine and calcified cartilage are some main functions of osteoclasts cells. They also function with some of the immune or mesenchymal stem cells in the bone marrow.
Osteoblast forms bones whereas osteoclasts breakdown the bones.
