Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

The different types of energy that take part in the water in the dam are potential energy, kinetic energy, thermal energy, electrical Energy.

Kinetic energy is a type of energy that is present in a body which is due to the property of its motion.

Potential energy is type of energy which is produced due to the property of its state. It cannot be transferred easily.

Thermal energy is created from the vibration of atoms and molecules within substances.

Electrical energy is defined as the movement of electrons made up of protons and neutrons.

In a water dam, different types of energy energies take part in the in the cycle. The water

That is stored in the dam is in the form of potential energy. When the water falls kinetic energy is produced. The kinetic energy is transported to the turbines and then to the generators armature.

The generator then transfers the kinetic Energy into the electrical Energy and the frictional losses in the turbines leads to generation of thermal energy.

Conclusion:

Hence, the list of energies that take part in the cycle that includes stored water and electricity produced are potential energy, kinetic energy, thermal energy andelectrical Energy.
