Introduction:
The liver is a reddish-brown-colored gland, which is an additional digestive organ located nearly inferior to the diaphragm. It fills most of the epigastric and right hypochondriac regions. It is the largest organ in the body, measuring about 1.4 kg (3 lb). It has a wide range of functions, but secretion of bile is the only function that contributes to the digestion process.
