Interpretation:
The three reactions which allow the conversion of cytoplasmic NADH into NADPH should be determined along with the enzymes needed for the reactions. The sum of the three reactions should be determined.
Concept introduction:
The most important difference between NADPH and NADH is that, NADPH is used during photosynthesis, and NADH is used during respiration. NADH plays an important role during oxidative phosphorylation, it acts as an electron donor in this process, and helps in the synthesis of ATP. One NADH molecule produces 2.5 ATP molecules.
