The significance of the Nod factor regulation.

Introduction:

Nod factors are the signaling molecules produced by the rhizobia for the initiation of nodule formation in legume roots. These are composed of chitin with lipid attachments. The bacterial expression of nod factors is induced by phytoestrogens called flavonoids which are detected by the bacterial cells. The Nod factors then communicate with the host plant which helps in establishing the symbiotic relationship between the plant and bacteria.
