To determine: The effects of FAS on all the individuals and not only on the children born with this syndrome.
Introduction: FAS stands for fetal alcohol syndrome. Teratogens are agents or chemicals which cause fetal and/or embryonic abnormalities. Alcohol acts as a teratogen causing fetal alcohol syndrome. Consumption of alcohol during pregnancy is one of the major causes of FAS. Alcohol-related birth defects are milder forms of this disorder.
