Chapter 42, Problem 2TYK
Summary Introduction

Cilia (singular ‘cilium’) are the hair-like structure found on eukaryotic cells. Cilium is of two types, namely motile and non-motile cilium. Motile cilia are used for locomotion. The non-motile cilia, also called primary cilia, serves as a sensory organelle. In the human lungs, the motile cilia are found on the lining of the trachea, which helps to sweep mucus and dirt out of the lungs.
