The infection that may affect different parts of the urinary tract is termed as urinary tract infection (UTC). The infection when present in the upper side of the urinary tract is called a kidney infection (pyelonephritis) and if the infection is on the lower region of the urinary tract, it is known as a bladder infection (cystitis). One of the symptoms associated with UTI is severe abdominal pain.
