Botulism is one of the most dangerous foodborne diseases. Botulism is a rare disease but it may prove to be fatal. Botulism is a bacterial disease caused by Clostridium botulinum (C. botulinum). The bacterium releases a poisonous neurotoxin that attacks the nervous system.
