Introduction:
Genitourinary infections comprise of both genital and urinary infections. These are grouped together because of their close relation. The urinary tract includes kidney, urethra, ureter and urinary bladder. Infections in any part of the urinary tract are called urinary tract infections. They are usually caused by the uropathogenic Escherichia coli.
