To explain: The reason the types of technology valued can vary.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The types of technology valued can vary depending on the place of living and people’s needs.
Technology change from time to time and the solution to any problem generate new technology.
Society affects the development of new technologies. The development of technology is affected by society and its changing values, politics and economics. For instance, with the advancement of technology more cars have been manufactured but with the increase in the number of cars more fuel is under consumption. This led to the development of fuel-efficient cars and hybrid cars and people bought them according to their needs. Thus, people support technologies that agree with their personal values by directly buying that technology. Another approach is indirect support of technologies that agree with the personal values of people. For example, people vote and choose a government based on the candidate’s views on various issues. This indirectly influences technology projects which receive funds and support from the government.
Conclusion:
Hence, social forces can shape technology and the technology valued can vary.
