The process of fertilization that produces a diploid organism with respect to the chromosomes and to know that the cell is diploid.

Introduction:

Haploid cells are those cells that have a single copy of chromosomes (n) inside the nucleus. They only contain half of the chromosomes. The diploid cells have two whole sets of chromosomes (2n). For instance, the muscle and skin cells are diploid, whereas the sperm and ovum are haploid cells.
