Question
Chapter 11, Problem 9bCP
Summary Introduction
To review:
The following:
1. The effects of stress on the secretions of adrenal cortex and adrenal medulla.
2. The reason behind increased susceptibility to diseases due to hypersecretion of the adrenal medullary hormones.
Introduction:
On the basis of embryonic origin, the adrenal gland is sub-divided into two parts, namely, the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla. The stimulation for the cortex and medulla are different but their secretions perform almost the same function. The secretions of adrenal cortex and adrenal medulla are affected by stress. Stress can be positive or negative.
