Introduction:
Cyclooxygenase is an enzyme which converts arachidonic acid into prostaglandin and it is also known as prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase (PTGS). The prostaglandins are the active lipid compounds known as eicosanoids and they consist of twenty carbon skeletons. Different forms of prostaglandins regulate different functions in the body.
