Introduction:
The practice of immunization has been performed since hundreds of years. A vaccination allows the immune system of the body to detect infections such as viruses or bacteria as well as enable it to produce certain defensive proteins against the pathogens. The first step in establishing an effective therapy and avoiding further infection is to determine the cause of the disease. Robert Koch, Louis Pasteur, and Florence Nightingale have contributed immensely to the field of medical microbiology and immunology and their works are still in use today.
