Concept Introduction:

Facility layout could be defined as the way in which the physical aspects of an organization are being arranged. The tools, equipment and machinery needed in producing a good must be arranged in such a way that the efficiency and effectiveness of the process is maintained at a highest possible level. The space availability within the facility, the nature of the final product, the safety measures that must be taken in relation to the staff and premises and the smooth flow of operations are some important considerations with regard to a facility layout decision.
