Answer to Problem 19LC

Excited electrons that revert to the ground state result in atomic emission spectra. Light is released as an energy whenever electrons drop to lower energies.

Explanation of Solution

When an electron will jump into a higher orbital and after some time it will return to its original orbital. During this process, one kind of energy will be released. It will be known as the electromagnetic spectrum. It can be expressed as:
