Question
Chapter 27, Problem 14RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
Antiviral agents that treat disease.
Introduction:
Antiviral agents are the compounds that prevent the replication of viruses responsible for causing diseases. They are most effective when the virus is replicating. The enzymes that are present only in the virus are the potential targets for antiviral drugs. This class of medications treats viral infections. The purpose of antiviral therapy is to lessen the signs as well as to shorten the interval of illness.
