Answer to Problem 6R

Stirring speed up the rate of the reaction.

Temperature increases, the rate of dissolving also increase.

Increased surface area, rate of dissolving also increased.

Explanation of Solution

Stirring:

Stirring helps the solute particles to distribute in whole of the solvent. Solute molecules make contact with solvent molecules. Stirring speeds up the rate of dissolving. For example, after adding sugar in iced tea and stir the tea, the sugar will dissolve faster.

Temperature:

Solubility of liquid is increase with the increase of temperature. When temperature is increased, kinetic energy of solvent particles is also increasing, due to this solvent molecule more effectively break the solute molecules that are held together. with this rate of dissolving the solute particles in solvent is increase.

Surface area:

When surface area is increased, then the solute particles in solvent, break up in small pieces, and after this solute particle is easily dissolve in solvent. Rate of dissolving is increase with the increase of surface area.

Conclusion:

After increases the surface area and temperature, rate of dissolving is also increases.Stirring is also another factor to increase the rat of dissolving
