Water acts as a nucleophile gets attached to the carbonyl carbon of amide to form tetrahedral intermediate(A) which on losing proton get converted to tetrahedral intermediate(B). The nitrogen of tetrahedral intermediate (B) gets protonated to form tetrahedral intermediate(C). The
