Chapter 12, Problem 9CP
Summary Introduction
To review:
The following:
Characteristics of slow- and fast- twitch fibers
Basis of fiber type determination and functions of different fiber types.
Introduction:
Skeletal muscles are a form of striated muscle tissue with visible striations. It is regulated by the voluntary control of somatic nervous system. Skeletal muscle cells are long in size and cylindrical shaped and are referred to as muscle fibers. Multiple bundles are called fascicles which join together to form muscles.
