Introduction:

The gustatory receptors present in the mouth stimulate at five different forms of tastes that are salt, sweet, sour, bitter, and umami sensations. These are detected by the taste buds and the neuroepithelial cells in the tongue. Sensory neurons convey information to the brain through various nerve communication to develop the perception of taste.
