Introduction:
The cochlea (hearing apparatus) is a spiral-shaped structure found in the inner ear which is able to detect sounds of different frequencies that are transmitted from the outer ear. The cochlea plays a major role in the auditory transduction process where the electrical impulse is interpreted as individual frequencies of sounds by the brain.
