The speed of the eight ball after hitting by the cue ball.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Momentum is product of mass times velocity. It is vector quantity.
If one body collides with another body at rest and both body ofequal mass, then momentum of first body is transferred to second body and the second body gains the velocity of first body.
When the cue ball hits the stationary eight ball, all eight balls moves with velocity of cue ball to keep the momentum constant.
Conclusion:
The eight ball moves with velocity of cue ball.
