Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Force is push or pull given to object which causes the change in the velocity.If force acting on object is balanced and total force on object is zero then object is said to be in equilibrium.
Suppose a book text book kept on a floor or on a table is in equilibrium.
Then there are two forces acting on the book
- Force due to weight of the book that is gravitational force.
This force is exerted by an earth which is in downward direction. - Force exerted by table
This force is exerted by the table which is in upward direction.
These two are equal and in opposite direction to each other.
CONCLUSION:
Two forces acting on the book gravitational force and force by table.
