Introduction:Coordinate system is used to find the location of point on earth.Most co ordinate system uses two numbers, a co ordinate to identify the location of a point.
Suppose a ball is thrown up in vertical direction then coordinate system is shown by a vertical line. Here positive direction is taken either up or down.If you take vertically up as positive. The co-ordinate system is as shown in figure.
Thus the ball is moving up, its change in position with respect to time is taken as positive. Alsovelocity of the ball changes with respect to time.
