Chapter 35, Problem 39A
Summary Introduction

To write:

About the three different types of plant cell.

Introduction:

Like the animal cells, the plant cells also have different organelles that made of different tissue. Some of the plant cells are different from the animal cells they include cell walls. Central vacuole and plastids. The vacuoles are surrounded by its membrane and consists of water dissolved substances, it maintains the pressure in the cell wall, the cell wall covered the cell membrane of the plant cell that is made of cellulose and also lignin this provides rigidity to the cell, and plastids are membrane found organelles that have their DNA, Chromoplast and chloroplast are two types of plastids involve in the photosynthetic process. The plant has three types of cells that are parenchyma, collenchyma, and sclerenchyma.

Explanation of Solution

The plant cells are divided into three ground tissue; parenchyma, sclerenchyma, and collenchyma. The parenchyma is the cube shape and is loosely packed, they have a thin wall and have unspecialized chloroplasts. Parenchyma cells are involved in cellular respiration, storage, and photosynthesis process. The collenchyma is an elongated type of cells with irregular thickened walls, they involve in providing support and wind resistance to the plant, and the sclerenchyma consists of thick cell walls made of lignin, this cell provides strength and support to the plant.

Conclusion

Thus, each cell of the three plants have specific structure and function.
