Introduction:
Nutrition is the process by which a person can take in and uses food. Food supplies building blocks and energy to maintain body mass. The daily intake of energy from food should be equal to the amount of energy that a person uses daily. A calorie is a unit used to measure the energy content of the food.
Explanation of Solution
The nutrient is a food-supply material that is necessary for the continuation of life for development. Human needs nutrients like protein, vitamin, carbohydrate, fats, minerals, dietary fiber, and water. The difference between vitamins and minerals are given below:
Vitamins | Minerals |
These are organic compounds. | These are inorganic compounds. |
They are needed in small amount for | They are needed for bodybuilding and metabolic functions. |
Vitamin A, B, C, D, etc. are the example of vitamins. | Iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, etc. are examples of minerals. |
Thus, the vitamins and minerals can be differentiated based upon their component, function, etc.
