Question
Chapter 34, Problem 3RQ
Summary Introduction
To describe:
The respiratory system of birds and the process by which it allows oxygen-rich air to enter the lungs during both inhalation and exhalation.
Introduction:
Respiratory structures evolved as the complexity of the organisms evolved. They support, protect and retain the moisture of delicate cell membranes by which exchange of gases occurs. These structures include “tracheae in insects” and “lungs in all mostly vertebrates”.
