Summary Introduction

To write:

About the location of the nephron.

Introduction:

The excretory system is the system of an organism's body that performs the function of excretion, the bodily process of discharging wastes. Several parts of the body are involved in this process, such as sweat glands, the liver, the lungs and the kidney system. The kidneys maintain homeostasis by removing wastes and excess water from the body and by maintaining the pH of the blood. The kidneys are the major excretory organ in the body. It is a bean-shaped organ that is involved in urine formation performs filtration of blood.

Explanation of Solution

Each kidney contains approximately one million filtering units called nephrons. Blood enters each nephron through a long tube that is surrounded by a ball of capillaries called the glomerulus. The glomerulus is surrounded by a structure called Bowman’s capsule. A nephron is used to separate from the blood, the water, ions, and small molecules, filtering waste and toxins out, and returning the required molecules to the blood. The nephron has ultrafiltration function. Ultrafiltration happens when the blood pressure in capillary walls forces water and other small molecules through tiny gaps. This substance is said as an ultrafiltrate and lacks the blood cells and large molecules in the bloodstream. The ultrafiltrate travels through the nephron’s various loops, where water and important molecules are taken away, and into a gathering duct that drains into the bladder.

Conclusion

Nephrons are found in the kidney. It is made up of glomerulus, and tules. It removes wastage from the blood.
