Protein microarrays are designed in the same way as DNA microarrays. The only difference between protein microarrays and DNA microarrays is that the silica or glass plated slide is dotted with proteins instead of DNA sequence. Protein microarrays are of two types, namely, antibody microarrays and functional protein microarrays.
