Ammeter is a device used to measure current and voltmeter is a device used to measure voltage in a circuit.
An ammeter is connected in series with circuit and offers negligible resistance to the circuit. A voltmeter has very high resistance and is connected parallel to the circuit. It causes a large change in current in the circuit.
