Chapter 2.2, Problem 3R
Summary Introduction
To review:
The type of noncovalent force that allows the gecko lizards to stick to all types of surfaces.
Introduction:
The gecko lizards have been the center of attention for their ability to climb even on glass surfaces. The amazing ability of geckos to climb on the hydrophilic as well as the hydrophobic surfaces has increased the curiosity of the scientists.
It has been observed that millions of hair (micrometer in size) split into more number of hair (nanometre in size) that help the lizard to make an immediate contact on all types of surfaces.

- What is the only statement that correctly identifies the ability of different wavelengths of UV light to penetrate the human skin? Note: UVA is the longest wavelength (least energy), and UVC is the shortest wavelength (most energy). If you've studied the electromagnetic spectrum you may remember that wavelength and energy have an inverse relationship. We'll talk more about this later in the course. Group of answer choices A- UVA light penetrates only as deep as the epidermis, which is where it has its effect B-UVB light penetrates only as deep as the epidermis, which is where it has its effect C-UVC light penetrates only as deep as the epidermis, which is where it has its effectarrow_forwardWhich treatment is the negative control? Use the data collected by industry scientists (in Part A) to complete the following graphing activity. – This activity involves drawing two graphs. 1. You would like to visualize the effect of lotion type on the total average redness after 30 minutes of sun exposure. Construct a bar graph to visualize your results. Use appropriate scale, label the axes with names and units of measurement, and give the graph a "good" title. 2. Next, you would like to visualize the data to determine how redness changes over time depending on lotion type. a. What type of graph will you use to present the data? (i.e. bar graph, line graph, multiple line graph, scatter plot, pie chart) b. Which variable will be on the x axis? c. Which variable will be on the y-axis? 3.
