Question
Chapter 2.1, Problem 3R
Summary Introduction
To review:
Whether the human body has a same elemental composition as that of the earth’s crust.
Introduction:
The body of every living being is made up of the elements that are found in the earth’s crust. Seventy percent of the human body is made up of water, teeth are made of calcium phosphate, our bones are made of calcium and other trace elements are also required by the body to perform complex functions.

Carbon makes up 18.5% of the human body, but the top of the carbon section in the stacked column of the infographic lines up with about 35% on the y‑axis. What accounts for the difference?
Imagine that scientists have found traces of liquid water on the surface of Mars. Could this discovery be indicative of the possible existence of life on the planet? Explain the role liquid water plays in sustaining life.
