Introduction:
The fusion of an ovum with a sperm leads to fertilization. The process of fertilization can be inhibited through various mechanisms. The contraception methods are used in order to avoid fertilization of the male and female gametes. These methods include protective barrier, physiological barriers and consumption of certain drugs, like contraceptive pills.
